After many years and many different temporary paint jobs including the infamous “red oxide”, DTC 76747 has recieved a repaint into BR(s) Green at the Dartmoor Railway in preparation for its return to passenger service.

Following the rapid departure from Wales, there is now no official requirement for an established “preservation group” to be in existance.

Therefore from 00:00, 10th November 2011, STC Group will cease to exist and be replaced by this site which is solely aimed at the train and its upkeep.

There has been no change in ownership and there is not likely to be, the train has a secure working future.

Following a rather rapid departure from Wales at the end of our filming contract with the unit, 62385 and 76747 were welcomed back onto the Dartmoor Railway, where it was originally based back in 2008.

Following a plan of works, it will return to passenger service in mid-2012, hopefully joined by a rebuilt 76818 from Eastleigh.

There are also discussions regarding reforming the set as a 4-car, however more details will be confirmed at a later date.
