Therefore from 00:00, 10th November 2011, STC Group will cease to exist and be replaced by this site which is solely aimed at the train and its upkeep.

There has been no change in ownership and there is not likely to be, the train has a secure working future.

Following a plan of works, it will return to passenger service in mid-2012, hopefully joined by a rebuilt 76818 from Eastleigh.

There are also discussions regarding reforming the set as a 4-car, however more details will be confirmed at a later date.

Class 421 E.M.U No.1496 is now based at the Dartmoor Railway in Devon, where after substantial maintenance is carried out, it will return to passenger service in mid-2012. The train has landed a leading role in the 2011 movie production “Last Passenger”, due for release in 2012.
